Dr. Fadzli Mohamed Nazri is an Associate Professor with research interest on risk assessment, seismic hazard, structural analysis, numerical stimulation and modelling. On top of this, his research has given him a deeper understanding and desire to learn more on earthquake engineering. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Structural and Earthquake Engineering in the School of Civil Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He gained his undergraduate degree and MSc by Research in Civil Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He completed his PhD in structural and earthquake engineering from University of Bristol, UK in 2012. His PhD research project during the PhD was on predicting the collapse of the buildings by using numerical analysis. He has published 7 books, more than 50 reputable ISI/scopus/era research papers in the field of structural and earthquake engineering, 10 book chapters and 5 policy papers with the Department of Standard Malaysia. He was a guest scientist at Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey and visiting researcher at University of Leeds, UK. Also, he received research grants from university and ministry of higher education with a staggering amount of RM300000 to conduct his research.
He is currently supervising local and international PhD candidates as both main and co – supervisor and also, scientific reviewer for various journals such as the Journal of Earthquake Engineering and Vibration, International of Civil Engineering, Journal of Earthquake Engineering and 15 more other prestigious journals. Besides that, he holds a 3 copyright related to earthquake engineering with Intellectual property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO). He was the member of several professional bodies at national and international level. He is an active member of International Association of Engineers many more. At the national level, he is a member of Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) and Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). He also participated in various workshops on structural and earthquake engineering in Malaysia, Indonesia and Portugal. Due to his involvement in many scientific activities, his significant contribution was acknowledged and he was invited as speaker to conferences and book writing & publishing events. His consultancy work in various industries across several part of Malaysia begun in 2013 and his latest project was on late 2019. Over the past 7 years, he was involved in many outreach activities for schools and local institution.
